The Datsun 810 was billed as a sports luxury sedan. Why? Because it had the engine of the 240z. A straight-6 L24, and nice circular gauges just like the 240z had. Why do I want one? Well just look at this loved example! Nice wheels, good suspension work. This is a nicely loved car that isn't insane. For me, I would love to see this with either a Rebello 3 liter race motor for a track day car or a nice RB26 swap for an easy reliable 500hp drag racer. This would be a wonderful and perfect father-son(daughter) project. It's quirky yet looks right for that sort of thing. Especially when it's all prepped and ready to throw down. Besides, my grandmother had a red one at one point in her later life and it was as smooth as can be!

Nice. Like. But wait a minute: you say it isn't insane, then you talk about a 500-hp mod. What?

the 810 was 2,400 lbs or so.. so 500hp is pretty nuts, but not quite insane. ;)
